Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Jianpi Xiaozhi decoction on children with functional dyspepsia and its effects on gastric emptying time and pepsinogen. Methods Totally 89 children with functional dyspepsia admitted to our hospital from April 2018 to April 2019 were enrolled in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups: 44 in control group and 45 in observation group. Mosapride citrate was given to the control group, and the observation group received Jianpi Xiaozhi decoction combined with mosapride citrate.The effects, gastric emptying time and pepsinogen levels were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate was 91.1%(41/45), higher than that of the control group(70.5%, 31/44),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in both groups significantly decreased, and the observation group was lower than the observation group, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the gastric emptying time was significantly shortened in both groups, and the observation group was shorter than the control group(P<0.05); the pepsinogen level in both groups were significantly increased , and the level of pepsinogen Ⅰand pepsinogen Ⅱ was higher in observation group than in control group(P<0.05). Conclusion  Jianpi Xiaozhi decoction has significant effects on children with functional dyspepsia. It can promote gastric emptying and enhance pepsin secretion and activity through promoting spleen activity and digestion. The therapeutic effect is remarkable and it is worthy of clinical recommendation.
