    Comparison research on five ways of skeletal age determination in children with central precocious puberty

    ObjectiveTo discuss the diagnostic values of CHN method,Chinese,Japanese and English standards of TW2 method,and TW3 method in skeletal age(SA)determination in children with central precocious puberty(CPP),then to comform the normal thresholds.MethodsPatient group: 61 children with complete information.Control group had 67 children:(1)61 cases were normal children,whose sex,age,height and weitht were similar to the patient group; (2)6 cases were girls whose breasts developed after 8 years old.Left handwrist Xray radiographs before therapy were retrospectively blindly analyzed by two doctors and relevant SA were assessed with CHN method,Chinese,Japanese and English standards of TW2 method,and TW3 method.The differences between SA and chronological age(CA)Δ=(SACA)were analyzed with ROC in SPSS 13.0.Results(1)The SA results showed Kappa value was 0.776 by two doctors (u=16.128,P<0.05).(2)Area under the curve(AUC)of ROC: ACHN= 0.921±0.024(95% confident interval: 0.875~0.967),ATW2CHN=0.947±0.019(0.910~0.983);ATW2JP=0.937±0.023(0.892~0.982); ATW2Br=0.931±0.022(0.888~0.975); ATW3=0.924±0.023(0.879~0.969).There were no statistic differences for the AUC of ROC among the five methods(Z=0.85,P>0.05).(3)Δ≥1.25years in CHN,Δ≥1.25 years in TW2CHN,Δ≥0.65years in TW2JP,Δ≥1.15 years in TW2 and Δ≥0.25 years in TW3 were more sensitive and specific points.ConclusionsThe five SA determination methods provide a higher diagnostic values in children with CPP,and TW2CHN provide the hightest value for Chinese children.

    Effects of treatment with the GnRH analognes(triptorelin) on girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty

    ObjecticeTo evaluate the effects of the GnRH analognes(triptorelin) on 23 girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty(ICPP).MethodsTotally 23 girls with ICPP received triptorelin therapy for 6 months;before and after the treatment,observe the change of secondary sexual characteristics,volume of the ovary and uterus,bone age,serum level of E2,hormone level of the GnRH stimulating test,and the drug side effects.ResultsAfter 6 months of treatment with triptorelin,the size of breast,uterus and ovary was significantly reduced.The peak levels of serum LH and FSH by GnRH stimulation test and the E2 were also significantly reduced.The ratio of BA/CA decreased,meaning the disrupted maturation of BA.The predicted adult height(PHA) increased from (155.5±0.81)cm to (157.0±0.81)cm,which was better than before treatment.(P<0.01)ConclusionThe treatment with triptorelin can effectively suppress the gonadal axis and sex symptoms,delay the BA maturation,and finally improue the adult height in girls with ICPP.

    Application of Bmode ultrasonic diagnostic equipment evaluating quadriceps femoris muscle thickness (MTQ) in rehabilitation evaluation of spastic diplegia cerebral palsy

    ObjectiveTo explore the application of Bmode ultrasonic diagnostic equipment evaluating MTQ in rehabilitation evaluation of spastic diplegia cerebral palsy children,providing a new method for effect assessment of rehabilitation treatment.MethodSixty children with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy were selected and divided into two groups.Experimental group,30 cases were treated with Traditional Chinese Drug Fumigation Bath and rehabilitation training.In control group,30 cases were treated only with rehabilitation training.Applied Modified Ashworth (MAS,) Gross Motor Function Measurement (GMFM88),Bmode ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to evaluate quadriceps femoris muscle tone,motor function and MTQ.Result1)Comparison between 1.5 months of treatment and before treatment:MAS reduced a little,GMFM88 increased a little, but there was no statistical difference (P>0.05);but MTQ increased significantly(P<0.05).2)Therapy for 3 months and before therapy Comparison: MAS descended obviously (P<0.01), GMFM88 raised obviously(P<0.01)and MTQ raised obviously(P<0.05).( 3 )Contrast between two groups:Before therapy, MAS,GMFM88,MTQ of both groups had no obvious difference(P>0.05). After therapy for 3 months, experimental group had more significant effect with MAS descending more predominance than that of control group(t=-2.408,P=0.019<0.05),GMFM88 raising more patency than that of control group(t=2.778,P=0.007<0.01)and MTQ raising more patency than that of control group(t=2.310,P=0.024<0.05)(4).The result of GMFM88 and Bmode ultrasonic diagnostic equipment had correlation(r=0.734,P<0.01)ConclusionBmodeultrasonic diagnostic equipment evaluating MTQ can reflect muscle thickness changes ,providing an evidence for therapeutic effect of rehabilitation treatment on spastic diplegia cerebral palsy.

    The effect of fastigial nucleus electric stimulation on learning memory ability of rats with hypoxicischemic brain damage

    ObjectiveTo explore the effect of fastigial nucleus electric stimulation on learning memory of rats with hypoxicischemic brain damage.MethodsThirtysix cases of sevendayage Wistar rats were randomly divided into HIBD group and sham operation group.HIBD group was divided into model group and electric stimulation group.Left common carotid artery was ligatured and nitrogenoxygen mixture gas inhaled for 2 h,hence HIBD animal models of neonatal rats were made;link the equipment without electrical stimulation (sham operated group),link the device but not connected (model group),and link device and connected (electrical stimulation group) at the same time.Twelve rats were randomly divided into 7day intervention group(6 cases)and 14day intervention group(6 cases).After 7 days and 14 days intervention,(1)the two groups were pespectively detected by Ytype maze learning and memory of mice brain injury function;(2)after HE staining,observe nerve cells and nerve fibers by the optical microscope;(3)detect the brain white matter STAT3 protein expression levels by immunohistochemi.ResultBy Ytype maze test,total time in M group was longer than group E (P< 0.05);active avoid reaction rate and the correct response rate in M group was lower than E group (P< 0.05).In M group the total time increased significantly compared with group F(P< 0.05); in M group,active avoid reaction rate and the correct response rate was also significantly lower than group F (P< 0.05).In F group of structure and cellular level brain tissue of each place was clear,form normal,with no obvious harm change.In M group capillary hemorrhage could be seen obviously,nuclei became pyknotic,nuclear cataclasmproof obvious,so the model as a success.In Group E nerve cells degeneration necrosis was less,most cell forms were relatively normal.The signal transduction and transcription activated protein 3 (STAT3) around cortex and seahorses increased relatively more than model group (P< 0.05).ConclusionElectrical stimulation of the cerebellar fastigial nucleus can recover the learning memory ability of rats.
