Abstract: Objective By investigating the related factors affecting the rehabilitation compliance of children with autism spectrum disorder, this paper aims to provide a theoretical basis for the effective rehabilitation of children with autism spectrum disorder. Methods A total of 103 children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in Weifang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from Jan. 2017 to Jan. 2019 were included as the research subjects. The observation group (n=50) received institutional intervention combined with family intervention, and the control group (n=53) were not intervened due to various reasons. The parents of the children were surveyed by questionnaires, and the questions included parents' knowledge about autism spectrum disorder, family economy, educational level of parents, parents' occupation, parents' confidence in the results of long term rehabilitation, and parents' belief in physicians. The factors affecting the rehabilitation compliance of children with autism spectrum disorder were investigated.
Results Univariate analysis showed that the differences in the three factors were statistically significant (P<0.05), which were parents' lack of understanding of autism spectrum disorder, parents' lack of confidence in the effect of long term rehabilitation training, and family economic difficulties. Logistic regression analysis showed that parents' lack of understanding of autism spectrum disorders, parents' lack of confidence in the effect of long term rehabilitation training, and family economic difficulties were the main factors affecting rehabilitation compliance. Conclusion It is of great significance for improving comprehensive rehabilitation effect and the life quality of children with autism spectrum disorder to increase the parents' knowledge about autism spectrum disorder, enhance their confidence in rehabilitation and promote the support of the society for the family with autism spectrum disorder.
