Abstract: Vitamin A is an essential fat-soluble vitamin in human body, especially to children, pregnant and lactating women. Vitamin A deficiency in childhood is known to cause dry eyes, lower body resistance and increase the risk of infection.The pathogenesis of anemia in children caused by vitamin A deficiency includes restriction of hematopoietic gene expression, destruction of erythrocyte membrane stability, reduction of EPO level and hematopoietic inhibition, influence on iron metabolism, and reduction of hematopoietic raw materials, etc. This paper summarizes the pathogenesis of anemia caused by vitamin A deficiency in children.
