General knowledge on TCM understanding and treatment of children with multiple tic syndrome
    2020, 12 (4):  277-280.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.04.001
    Abstract ( 395 )   PDF (499KB) ( 106 )   Save
The understanding of traditional Chinese medicine for multiple tic syndrome is as follows: in terms of syndrome differentiation and treatment, most medical doctors mainly focus on organ differentiation and illness; in terms of pathogenesis, most medical doctors believe that the pathogenesis of this disease is the deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality, specifically manifested as deficiency in liver, spleen and kidney, and wind, fire and phlegm are interlinked; in terms of disease location, the main disease location of multiple tics is in the liver, and is closely related to the heart, lung, spleen, kidney and other organs. Based on the above knowledge, experimental researches and clinical researches on multiple tics are carried out in TCM, which shows that TCM treatment for multiple tics can control the symptoms of tics and improve the quality of life of children. Therefore, Chinese medicine is one of the effective methods in treating children with multiple tics.

Professor Ding Ying's experience in treating renal hematuria in children
    2020, 12 (4):  345-348.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.04.019
    Abstract ( 170 )   PDF (549KB) ( 53 )   Save
The purpose of this paper is to introduce Professor Ding Ying's experience in the treatment of renal hematuria in children. Professor Ding Ying summarize the pathogenesis of the disease into three aspects: "heat, blood stasis and deficiency". The disease mainly attacks the kidney and bladder, the heatevil is concentrated in the lower Jiao, disturbing the blood collaterals, and blood overflow is the key to the occurrence of the disease. Yin deficiency with internal heat is the most common clinical syndrome of the disease, and blood stasis is the pathological state throughout the whole course of the disease. At the same time, based on the theory of "collateral disease", it is believed that the stagnation of kidney collaterals is the root cause of difficult recovery of renal hematuria. In terms of treatment, with nourishing Yin and clearing heat, activating blood circulation and dredging collaterals as the treatment principle, Professor Ding creates "Qingre Zhixue prescription" and "Wuteng Tongluo Yin" by herself, which are modified according to the syndrome, and the curative effect is very good.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with comprehensive rehabilitation training on children with global development delay.
Methods A total of 82 children with global development delay were included in the study, who were diagnosed in our hospital and received rehabilitation treatment from Oct. 2018 to Dec. 2019.They were divided into two groups according to whether the children cooperated and whether their families agreed to receive repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation: the observation group(n=45) and the control group(n=37). The two groups of children were evaluated by Gesell development scale and on S-S language development retardation before and after 3 months of treatment, and they also received comprehensive rehabilitation training. The observation group was treated with repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation in addition to comprehensive rehabilitation treatment. The changes in Gesell development scale and S-S language development scores were compared differences in clinical effect were compared between the two groups and among children with different degree of disease and at different age in the observation group.
Results Gesell development scale scores on adaptability, fine motion ability, language and social ability and S-S language development scores of the two groups were significantly higher after treatment than before treatment, and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).In the observation group, the total clinical effective rate of the mild cases and the 3 to 4 years old children was significantly higher than the moderate and severe cases and the 4.1 to 5 years old children in Gesell development scale evaluation and S-S language developmental delay evaluation, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).
Conclusion Repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation can improve the cognition and language ability of children with global developmental delay, and in the children at young age and with mild condition, the effect is especially significant.

    2020, 12 (4):  353-356.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.04.021
    Abstract ( 186 )   PDF (445KB) ( 60 )   Save
Objective To investigate the effect of the ladder treatment with traditional Chinese and western medicine in the prevention of early renal injury of Henoch-Schonlein purpura(HSP).
Methods A total of 1 010 children with HSP from January 2014 to January 2015 were collected, and were divided into program 1(731 cases) and program 2(279 cases). Different programs were adopted for the ladder treatment. By cohort study, renal injury rates were compared in treatment, abdominal pain, and clinical typing.
Results (1)The rate of renal damage after treatment was 13.82%(101/731) and 18.64%(52/279) for program 1 and program 2,respectively, and there was no statistical difference between the two programs(P>0.05).The rate of mild+moderate renal damage was 90.1%(91/101) for program 1, which was higher than that for program 2(76.9%,40/52)(P<0.05); the degree of renal damage for program 1 was lower. The duration of renal involvement in program 1 was (52.48±31.44)d, and it was (40.39±27.18)d in program 2, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)In the 1 010 HSP children, 462 had abdominal pain,87(18.83%) had renal damage within 3 months, and the rate of renal damage in the children with ,moderate and severe abdominal pain was higher than in those with mild pain, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05). The rate of renal damage was 19.61% (41/209) in the abdominal type and 18.18% (46/253) in the mixed type, which was higher than that in the skin type(11.16%,24/215),the difference being statistical(P<0.05).
Conclusion (1)Both of the two kinds of programs can reduce the rate of renal damage in HSP, and the combination ladder treatment of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine is effective in the prevention of renal damage. (2)Renal damage is more likely to occur in children with abdominal-type and mixed-type HSP, and the more severe the abdominal pain, the higher the rate of renal damage.

Clinical and genetic analysis of a child with congenital disorder of glycosylation with new mutations of PMM2 gene
    2020, 12 (4):  357-361.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.04.022
    Abstract ( 288 )   PDF (738KB) ( 86 )   Save
This article reports the clinical features of one case of congenital disorders of glycosylation caused by new mutations of the PMM2 gene and the features of PMM2 gene mutation(PMM2-CDG). The child was a 9-month old girl who presented with psychomotor retardation, abnormal liver enzyme, large ears, esotropia of left eye and hypermyotonia. Two heterozygous mutation points in the child's PMM2 gene was found by Sanger sequencing: c.430T> C (p.F144L) in exon 5 and c.556G>A(p.G186R) in exon 7.The former mutation came from her father and was a known hot-pathogenic mutation, and the latter came from her mother and was a novel mutation unreported. PMM2-CDG should be considered at the presence of multiple organ damage of unknown causes, especially in infants and young children, which is combined with general developmental delay, neurological disease, liver damage, eye abnormalities, and ear abnormalities, etc. The PMM2 gene test is beneficial to accurate diagnosis, The outcome can be evaluated based on the mutation site.
