Bronchial asthma(briefed as asthma) is a common heterogeneous disease in children, which is characterized by chronic airway inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness. The increasing incidence of asthma in children has brought heavy burden to the society. In recent years, the guidelines both at home and abroad provide important instructions for the standardized diagnosis and treatment of asthma, but only in western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history in the prevention and treatment of asthma in children; however, western pediatrians usually can’t combine the TCM treatment with western medicine treatment in a proper way. Expert Consensus on the Prevention and Treatment of Asthma in Children by Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine is completed after repeated revisions, which refers to the lastest TCM and western guideline, consensus and research progress worldwide, and is based on the important clinical practice and experience in integrated prevention and treatment of asthma in China. It provides important reference for pediatrians to apply integrated treatment properly in the prevention and treatment of asthma and to make clinical decisions, in order to increase the general level in controlling asthma in children.

Analysis of the experience in children's bronchiolitis obliterans based on the theory of collateral diseases
    2020, 12 (3):  215-217.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.03.009
    Abstract ( 212 )   PDF (428KB) ( 98 )   Save
Bronchiolitis obliterans in children is a kind of irreversible obstructive pulmonary disease. Clinically the disease is difficult to be cured and the prognosis is poor. Traditional Chinese medicine has its unique advantage in the treatment of this disease. Based on the theory of collaterals, this paper first discusses the relationship between the disease characteristics and collateral disease and concludes that the disease has the characteristics of collateral disease. Based on the theory of collateral diseases, the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease are analyzed. It is believed that the positive deficiency is the root cause of the disease. The phlegm stasis toxin is both the pathogenic factor and the pathological product, and the lung pulmonary collateral depression and numbness is the basic pathogenesis. Therefore, the treatment for this disease should follow the principle of a comprehensive treatment, giving consideration to both causes and symptoms.

    2020, 12 (3):  267-270.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3865.2020.03.024
    Abstract ( 171 )   PDF (1085KB) ( 43 )   Save
Objective To explore effect of quality control circle (QCC) activity in the screening of nutritional risks in hospitalized children. Methods Based on QCC procedure, we established the activity theme as "improving the screening rate of nutrition risk in hospitalized children". Targeted questions were designed for multiple divisions to carry out surveys, including Division of General Surgery, Division of Gastroenterology, Division of Rheumatology Immunology and Division of Neurology. The factors were analyzed and discussed in detail concerning why nutritional risk screening was not performed for hospitalized children. Subsequently, the rate of conducting nutritional risk screening before and after QCC was compared in the abovementioned four divisions. Results In view of the improvement focus, through the implementation of QCC protocol, the improvement rate of Pareto comparing before with after the activity was 88.83%, and the goal achievement rate was 93.35%. The rate of nutritional risk screening in hospitalized children was significantly improved. The screening rate after the activity was 84.4%(1 207/1 430), higher than that before the activity(40.5%,530/1 309), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Intangible results showed positive growth, the circle members were more skilled in the use of quality control techniques, and team cohesion was also significantly improved. Conclusion QCC can effectively increase the rate of nutritional risk screening in hospitalized children. The PDCAbased QCC protocol can effectively improve the screening rate of nutrition risk in hospitalized children, thus solve the clinical practical problems. While improving the rate of nutritional risk screening in hospitalized children, nutritional intervention and nutrition management should be provided for children with nutritional risks, so as to provide evidence for clinical nutritional support.

Objective Based on bibliometrics, this paper analyzes the current situation of clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine nursing in pediatrics, in order to lay a foundation for the clinical application and scientific research. Methods The literatures related to the clinical application of TCM nursing in pediatrics were retrieved in CNKI(published between 1983 and 2019). A statistical analysis was performed on the following data: the unit where the authors worked, the province where they came, the annual number of publication, the frequency of citation, the rate of co-authorship, and the disease distribution. Results A total of 134 literatures were included, which were published in 32 journals. The number of literature published was generally on the rise. The first authors were from 19 provinces, two municipalities and 3 autonomous regions. The research organizations were mainly TCM hospitals. There were 6 literatures with citation frequency being over 10, and the highest frequency was 18. The rate of co-authorship and the overall citation frequency were relatively low. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine nursing has been paid more and more attention by paediatric nurses, but the depth and breadth of the research are not good, and the communication and contact among the staff need to be strengthened.
